Roland Garros to Welcome Top Tennis Stars
From the 21st May to the 9th June, the exclusive Paris stadium will be the venue for the tennis tournament of the same name, also known as the French Open. This exclusive Grand Slam event attracts the top stars of international tennis over the 18 day period and is certain to be one of the biggest draws in the Paris calendar.
The French Open is one of the most important fixtures in the tennis world and was the first major tennis tournament to become an 'Open' back in 1968. The famous clay courts have seen many greats take the French Open men's singles title, including Yannick Noah for France in 1983. This year, all eyes will be on reigning champion Rafael Nadal who has recently made tennis history for equalling Bjorn Borg's record for number of tournaments won. Nadal has now won the French Open twice, and top players such as Andy Murray and Roger Federer are certain to want to take the title this year.
