Orsay Museum, ode to the impressionism
Installed in the station built by Victor Laloux for the Universal Exhibition of 1889, the Orsay Museum is a national museum dedicated to all the arts for the period 1848-1914.
A certain number of artistic movements are represented: Impressionism, academic, realism, symbolism, realism, art nouveau … The museum will exhibit artists like van Gogh, Bonnard, Cézanne, Carpeaux, Courbet, Gallé, Degas, Daumier, Gauguin, Guimard, Lalique, Maillol, Manet, Millet, Monet, Redon, Renoir, Rodin, Pissarro, Seurat, Sisley , Vuillard …

Multidisciplinary, the Orsay museum designs comprising both seasons exhibitions, concerts, festivals and conferences of all kinds on a common theme. The museum does not just stay focused on French art and made many acquisitions of foreign artists.
The ephemeral exhibitions intend to promote the Orsay Museum whether both nationally and internationally. Since 1st January 2004, the Orsay Museum has the status of public administrative establishment.
